Happy New Year!
It has been a minute since my last blog post because, well, holidays happened. November and December were filled with lights, music, good cheer, snow, and of course lots of chocolate gift giving. You, my wonderful customers, made December Tangle’s best month yet!
Now we are past the winter solstice, which has always been my favorite day of the year, because it means movement towards longer days. But we happily still have plenty of winter’s crispy coldness to enjoy. I’m hoping for lots more snow.
I’ve been enjoying bonfires with friends, which is a wonderfully life-affirming way to socialize safely and experience winter’s beauty. Something that goes well with bonfires is hot chocolate (you knew it was going to be some form of chocolate, didn’t you?!). Here are some ways to add extra flavors to your hot chocolate if you’re drinking it so often that you’d like to vary the way it tastes!
Hot Chocolate Twists for 2022
- Fresh orange zest and cayenne
- Chai steeped in hot chocolate
- Cardamom and fresh basil
- Coconut milk and maple syrup
- Curry and coconut milk
- A sage leaf and pat of best-quality butter
